Time-lapse video shows Folsom Lake drying up

FOLSOM, Calif. (KGO) -- A lot of people around the state are eager to see the rains return, and here's a time-lapse video that shows why.

The clip was shot between March and August of this year at Folsom Lake. It was posted on the Facebook page of Ryan Griffith of Sacramento.

We picked it up about a third of the way through, and you can see how dramatically the water levels have dropped over the summer.

According to the California Department of Water Resources, Folsom Lake is now just 18 percent full, which is the second lowest of all time. Click here to take a look at details on Folsom Lake's storage levels.
