A raffle contest offering ticket holders a chance to win a $2.1 million dream home in Marin County or $1.7 million in cash will close ticket sales Friday, according to officials.

The "Dream Home Raffle" contest is a national fundraising campaign launched in Sept. 2007 and sponsored by a non-profit social service agency, Community Action Marin.

The home offered to the grand prizewinner is a 4-bedroom house with a pool and other amenities in San Rafael, officials reported. Nearly 350 cash prizes will be awarded in addition to the grand prize, meaning that ticket holders have a 1 in 100 chance of winning at least $300 in cash at the Feb. 9 drawing, officials reported.

Tickets will be sold for $150 until Friday. The organization has almost sold all of the 35,000 tickets offered at the beginning of the raffle, officials reported.

Sales from tickets will benefit the non-profit organization, but are not tax deductible, according to officials.

Additional information about the contest is available online at http://www.marinraffle.com or by calling 1-800-431-5166.
