Minivan overturns in creek
The California Highway Patrol is responding to a crash on
Interstate Highway 680 near Martinez involving a partially submerged minivan
with a number of children inside, according to initial reports.
The CHP received a call shortly after 11 a.m. saying there was a
maroon minivan on its roof in a creek along southbound I-680 just south of
Waterfront Road in unincorporated Contra Costa County.
A witness reported seeing two infants, a couple of toddlers and
three adults in the van, according to the CHP.
An ambulance has been called to the scene, but there are currently
no reports of injuries, CHP said.
