SFPD crashes into liquor store

The accident happened early this morning in the Excelsior Neighborhood while they were responding to an emergency call.

The police cruiser apparently lost control, hit a light pole, and spun into the liquor store.

The pole fell into the wall of an apartment, breaking a window, and barely missing a crib with a baby inside.

"At first I thought it was gun shots. I saw the window. I took my wife and the kids to the living room. I went down stairs to find out what happened," said Jose Rodriguez the father of the baby.

Both officers suffered only minor injuries. The store was closed at the time, and no one else got hurt. An investigation is underway to find out exactly what happened.
