Gas station robber strikes again

SANTA ROSA, CA

Police said Matthew Meehan, 25, robbed the Chevron gas station at 730 Stony Point Road around 2:45 a.m. He presented a handgun and demanded cash and fled with the money and merchandise, Sgt. Lisa Banayat said.

Meehan is also a suspect in two Shell gas station robberies and the attempted robbery of a third Shell station in Santa Rosa this month, Banayat said.

Rohnert Park police identified Meehan, a former Rohnert Park resident, as the suspect in the armed robbery of a Valero gas station at 175 Southwest Blvd. on Aug. 19 and the robbery of the Digicom Wireless Store at 6285 Commerce Blvd. on Aug. 23.

The robberies in both cities have occurred both in the afternoon and early morning hours.

The white, male suspect in his 20s has been seen leaving the robberies in a black Honda Accord. Rohnert Park police said the car's license is 6DWN187 and it has a Grateful Dead "Deadhead" sticker in the rear window. Banayat said Meehan is believed to be driving a black 1990 Accord.

Rohnert Park police have a $100,000 warrant for Meehan's arrest. Meehan is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached, Sgt. Art Sweeney said.
