Kiffin appeared at his regularly scheduled Monday news conference and said that he had not been told by Raiders officials that he was being removed as head coach. Kiffin said he had not been told by owner Al Davis that he is not the head coach, and until he hears that he will keep plugging along.
When asked a second time about what he had been told by Raiders officials, he said he didn't want to comment on what had been said by other people.
Sources told ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen and FOXsports.com that Kiffin had been told by Raiders officials that he would be fired, perhaps as early as Monday.
Kiffin said the last time he had a conversation with Davis was before the Denver game in Week 1.
