San Jose firefighters step in to fight hunger

As they often do, firefighters are stepping into a Bay Area crisis.

After hearing about a shortage of Thanksgiving turkeys, the San Jose Fire Department is filling the gap.

All 34 of San Jose's fire houses are chipping in to purchase more than 100 turkeys to help make sure that nobody depending upon the Sacred Heart' Community Service pantry goes hungry on Thursday.

Sacred Heart reported a record request for help this unusually harsh holiday season.
