Skewered turkey released into wild

ALAMEDA COUNTY, CA

Veterinarians released him Monday, three days after he was found in Alameda County with an arrow lodged in his back.

Pinky had been wandering around with an arrow sticking out if him for more than six weeks.

It is turkey hunting season, so it is possible Pinky was shot legally on private land.

Veterinarians at the Bird rescue Center in Cordelia removed the arrow on Saturday.

They say he is a very strong bird and flies well but, he will have a limp.
