3 rescued from Concord apartment fire

CONCORD, CA The fire broke out in the second story of a building on the 1700 block of Ellis Street just before 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Firefighters rescued three people from the structure, one was transported to the hospital with severe in juries, according to Contra Costa County Fire Protection District spokesperson Emily Hopkins.

Several units in the building were damaged in the fire, the cause of which remains unknown.
