VTA holds public meeting on service changes

SAN JOSE, CA

The meetings, hosted by the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority, will provide a forum for comments on the Transportation Authority's Annual Transit Service Plan, which includes major changes to 14 bus routes and minor changes on 29 others.

The cost-neutral plan is designed to better allocate resources to bus lines with higher ridership, according to the Transportation Authority. The changes are scheduled to begin to be implemented in July.

Today's meeting begins at 2 p.m. in the Alum Rock Youth Center community room, 137 N. White Road, San Jose.

Further meetings are planned Jan. 26 in Palo Alto, Jan. 27 in Fremont, Jan. 28 in San Jose, and Jan. 29 in Morgan Hill and Gilroy. More information is available at the Transportation Authority's Web site, www.vta.org.
