Tough budget times are forcing Stanford University to consider cutting some sports teams.

The university's athletic department is now facing a projected $5 million in losses over the next three years.

No decision has been made over which teams to cut, or how many, but the school is expected to make those choices over the next month or two.

Last year the university won its 14th consecutive Directors' Cup, which is given to the best overall sports program in the country.
