Around 7:30 p.m., the woman called police to 4501 Montgomery Drive, where the suspect approached her while she stood next to her parked vehicle, police said.
The suspect had a knife and demanded her purse, but she did not give it to him, police said. During a struggle, the suspect cut her with the knife.
She was taken to the hospital where she was treated and released.
The suspect was only described as a Hispanic man in his early 20s, about 5 feet 11 inches tall with a neatly trimmed goatee and dark hair. He was wearing a dark, hooded sweatshirt.
