The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office received word around 8:40 a.m. Sunday that the Carniceria market at 3365 Middlefield Road had been robbed.

The owner of the market told authorities that two men wearing black clothing and ski masks and armed with handguns had walked into the market and demanded money.

They then ran to a waiting vehicle driven by a third suspect. A witness saw the vehicle speed away and provided investigators with a description of the car and a partial license plate number.

The car was later found abandoned in the 600 block of Eighth Avenue, near Edison Way, in unincorporated Redwood City. The suspects are still at large.

Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call sheriff's Detective Derron Sisneros at (650) 363-4055. Those wishing to remain anonymous can call (800) 547-2700.
