Possible explosive device removed in San Ramon

SAN RAMON, CA

Police received a call at 8:19 a.m. reporting the device on the Iron Horse Trail near Alcosta Boulevard.

Police closed off the surrounding area and the Walnut Creek bomb squad responded to investigate the device.

The area was reopened at around 11:15 a.m., police said.

A spokesperson for the bomb squad could not be immediately reached for comment and park police had not confirmed whether the suspicious device was actually explosive.
