ABC 7 News learned a lot from the Teens Turning Green website, about how young people are really tuning into the "green" movement these days to protect their health and the environment.

The group has a number of projects underway to help others learn what is in beauty products, cleaning products, etc.

"Project Green Prom" is asking for kids in the Bay Area and around the country to make a three minute or less video, showing how they would "green" their proms. The winner gets a free trip to New York for the awards ceremony and some other terrific prizes. The deadline is March 30th and instructions on how to upload the video to YouTube are on the website.

Teens who want to learn how to "green" their proms in the bay area can download a kit from www.teensturninggreen.org for information, starting April 1st.

Please let us know if your high school decides to join this effort. You can list your school in the comments section below..

People who want to help repurpose their fancy dresses or tuxedos, shoes, bags and accessories can drop off the items starting this Saturday, March 28, and the following Saturday at the Village at Corte Madera shopping mall off Highway 101 in Marin County.

People who need an alternate drop-off date can call 415-289-1001.

The contributors to the store at the mall include the sponsor, Whole Foods Market. They will make organic corsages for prom night for a small price.
