Officers responded to a report of a robbery on Berryessa Drive at about 8:40 p.m., where two minors said a man confronted them and demanded property, according to the Vacaville Police Department. Officers reported seeing someone matching the description of the man running into the yard of a residence in the 300 block of Berryessa Drive.

As officers established a perimeter to search for a suspect believed to be on foot, a silver Honda was seen fleeing the area at a high speed, driven by a man matching the suspect description. The vehicle had just been stolen, according to police.

Officers reported locating the Honda abandoned after the suspect apparently crashed it into a retaining wall near Marshall Road and Nut Tree Parkway. After conducting an extensive search of the area, aided by a K-9 unit and helicopter, police were unable to locate the suspect.

The suspected robber is described as a Hispanic man in his 20s, 5 feet 9 to 5 feet 10 inches tall with a thin build. He had a thin goatee and dark hair that was worn short on the sides and longer and slicked back on the top. He was wearing a white shirt and blue jeans, according to police.

Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to contact Vacaville Police Department at (707) 449-5200.
