Peter Klein was arrested by Gilroy police on March 27 after he was spotted driving away with stolen license plates from Chase Bank in Gilroy, where he had stolen $35,000 in a robbery of the bank at gunpoint.
Following that particular robbery and the March 2008 robbery at Bank of the West in Gilroy, Klein was arraigned in April on 10 counts, but Tuesday that was amended to include five additional Santa Clara County bank robberies.
Klein faces a maximum of 27 years and four months in state prison if convicted.
After officers arrested him in March, they determined that Klein was the "No Face Bandit," suspected of robbing 11 banks in two counties between December 2007 and January 2009.
Items such as the stolen license plates, clothing inside his car and evidence found at his home connected Klein to seven additional robberies in Santa Clara County, according to the district attorney's office.
The earliest robbery occurred at Gilroy's Union Bank of California on December 5, 2007, followed by robberies at Comerica Bank in Saratoga and Wells Fargo Bank in Los Gatos during that month.
Klein was tied to a string of robberies in 2008, twice at Bank of the West in Gilroy. He was also connected to a robbery of Comerica Bank in Saratoga in January 2009.
Klein is suspected of netting over $400,000 with four additional bank robberies in Santa Cruz County between March 2008 and December 2008, according to the district attorney's office.
Klein's wife told authorities that her husband had served as vice president of Monterey Pasta Company about two years ago, but he had been working part-time since losing that job, the district attorney's office said.
Before he was arrested in March, he had told his wife that he had found a well-paying "consulting job" and the couple had scheduled a trip to China the week after his arrest.
Klein is expected to enter a plea in court on May 5 at 1:30 p.m.
