Burlingame teaches residents to be green

The city of Burlingame is holding a series of seminars beginning today designed to help residents learn how to reduce their carbon footprint in their homes and lifestyles.

The seminars are sponsored by the city's Green Ribbon Task Force. Today's seminar, "Building a Green Home From the Ground Up," teaches ways to make an energy-efficient home, event organizers said.

Various seminars will also take place June 18 and 25, and July 9, 16 and 23. The seminars cost $20 for the series with advance registration and $7 at the door as long as space is available.
