Jonathan Jarvis is a 30-year park service veteran and had been its West Coast regional director until now.
Jarvis was reprimanded earlier this year for misrepresenting the environmental impact of the /*Drake's Bay Oyster Company*/ on the Point Reyes seashore. The farm has had a long-running battle with the park service.
But its lease has been extended for an additional 10 years under a $32 billion appropriations bill for the Department of the Interior, approved by the U.S. Senate Thursday.
