SJ to announce fed stimulus projects

San Jose will announce which road and building improvement projects will begin as millions of federal stimulus dollars start rolling into California.

The city will get about $56 million in federal stimulus money. One of the projects that will get stimulus funds is the Alma Street Repaving Project.

San Jose will get $15 million to repair 19 miles of roadway.

Nearly $9 million will be provided to install energy efficient lights and solar thermal systems on city government properties. And $6.5 million will be spent to recycle water at San Jose State University, San Jose Mineta Airport and city parks and schools.
