One-alarm fire at restaurant in Antioch

Firefighters in Antioch battled a structure fire that broke out Monday night in a shopping center restaurant, a dispatcher with the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District said.

At about 10 p.m., units responded to the Sommersville Towne Center at Fairview Drive and Sommersville Road where fire was reported at the restaurant New Oriental Buffet, the dispatcher said.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or evacuations caused by the one-alarm blaze, the dispatcher said.

According to the shopping center's Web site, the restaurant normally closes at 10 p.m. It was not immediately reported whether any restaurant patrons were inside when the fire started.

Investigators and fire crews had left the scene by 12:50 a.m., the dispatcher said.

Information regarding the cause of the fire was not immediately available.
