Hiker rescued by chopper after breaking ankle

The incident was reported at about 1:30 p.m., and the hiker was in a ravine about five miles from the trailhead, according to the CHP.

A helicopter with the CHP Golden Gate Division's Air Operation Unit was called to hoist the hiker out of the park due to the rough terrain, which prevented firefighters from gaining access to the area.

The woman was attached to a hoist cable and raised to the helicopter. She was then taken to Queen of the Valley Medical Center to be treated for her injury, according to the CHP.
