SJ closer to getting new medical clinic

The Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors says it has an agreement in place to buy the former San Jose Medical Center for $28 million.

The site would be used for an urgent care facility recently approved by voters.

San Jose Med, as it was called, shutdown in 2004 -- leaving downtown without a hospital.

Officials are planning a 30,000 square foot clinic, as well as other development projects, soon the site.
