This weekend, an attorney told reporters he had filed a $10,000 claim against the City of Oakland on behalf of the Mixon family. The claim says Mixon's teenage sister suffered burns from a stun gun when the SWAT team raided her apartment.
Mixon's grandmother told the Oakland Tribune that the attorney does not represent her family and that they have no plans to take any legal action.
Officers shot and killed Mixon in the apartment raid.
