Supreme Court steps in furlough battle

SACRAMENTO, CA

About 200,000 union employees have been ordered to take two days a month off, without pay, to help balance the budget.

But 26 lawsuits have been filed, and so far most of the rulings have gone against the governor -- including one last week in Alameda County that said workers who don't get paid from the general fund can't be furloughed.

Schwarzenegger says he's confident the Supreme Court will side with him.
