USPS takes steps to cut mail delivery

March 24, 2010 10:10:17 AM PDT
The United States Postal Service has taken the first step toward cutting back mail delivery to five days a week.

The Postal Government Board agreed to ask the Independent Postal Regulatory Commission for an opinion on dropping Saturday delivery.

Officials say the change would save more than $3 billion.

Congress still has to approve the change.
