An art expert now says he made a mistake when he concluded negatives bought for $45 at a Fresno garage sale were the lost work of Ansel Adams.

The Bay Citizen first reported this development Monday night.

The expert is a former curator at Boston's Museum of Fine Art.

He changed his mind after examining similar pictures owned by an Oakland woman, who said her late uncle had taken them.
