San Jose police are asking for the public's help; they say they need to find some leads in a hit and run Tuesday that left a bicyclist dead.

Wednesday, the coroner identified the 39-year-old victim as Carmen Martinez Reyes.

Police say he was riding his bike to work in San Jose's Alviso neighborhood just before 7 a.m. when he was struck by a car and killed. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The intersection of Zanker and Los Esteros roads has no sidewalks. Police say it appears Reyes was riding his bike on the side of the road when he was hit.

Anyone who may have seen the hit-and-run is asked to call the Police Department's traffic investigations unit at (408) 277-4654. Those wishing to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at (408) 947-STOP (7867).
