Cyclist struck, killed in apparent hit-and-run

SAN JOSE, CA

Wednesday, the coroner identified the 39-year-old victim as Carmen Martinez Reyes.

Police say he was riding his bike to work in San Jose's Alviso neighborhood just before 7 a.m. when he was struck by a car and killed. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The intersection of Zanker and Los Esteros roads has no sidewalks. Police say it appears Reyes was riding his bike on the side of the road when he was hit.
