David Perez says his dog "Sunny" got excited and ran off a trail and down a cliff at Fort Funston and got stuck in the damp sand. Firefighters had to rappel down the cliff to rescue the dog.
Perez was very grateful for the fire department's quick response. He says he has been taking his dogs to Fort Funston for years, but this is the first time something like this has happened.
