Jimenez, 23, of Vallejo, was shot and his body was found inside a white Ford Bronco, Deputy Coroner Ray Lamb said.
The time of death was 5:18 a.m., Lamb said. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
The Ford was found in a common parking lot of the Howard Johnson's Inn and Suites at 44 Admiral Callaghan Lane and a Grocery Outlet store at 66 Admiral Callaghan Lane.
Lamb said Vallejo police informed the coroner's office of the death at 6:44 a.m.
Pastor Stuart Reblin of the Door Christian Fellowship church in Vallejo said Jimenez attended the church for a significant period of time and also attended another church with his uncle.
Vallejo police were not immediately available for comment this afternoon.
