Two men rob Strawberry McDonald's

MARIN COUNTY, Calif.

The robbers confronted employees inside the restaurant, located at 600 Redwood Highway, at about 8:40 p.m., Marin County sheriff's Lt. Barry Heying said.

They forced the manager to empty a safe and escaped with cash and checks within two minutes, Heying said.

Police from Sausalito, Tiburon and Mill Valley helped sheriff's deputies search the Strawberry area for the suspects for about two hours, Heying said.

One is described as a light-skinned black man, 20-25 years old, 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall and 140-150 pounds. He was wearing a tan baseball cap, a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and tan or gray tennis shoes, Heying said.

The second suspect is a dark-skinned black man, 20-25 years old, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall and 150-175 pounds. He was wearing a black beanie with a small symbol on the front - possibly a "North Face" logo - a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and black-and-white tennis shoes, Heying said.

The sheriff's office posted a surveillance photo of the suspects on its website at www.marinsheriff.org/press.aspx.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the sheriff's office at (415) 499-7265 or Bay Area Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS or bayareacrimestoppers.org.
