The San Francisco Giants will be the first professional sports team to participate in an anti-homophobia video campaign called "It Gets Better."

The campaign supports gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender young people and raises awareness about anti-gay bullying.

President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have recorded videos, so have celebrities and even some Google employees.

A Giants fan began an online petition to get the team on board. Meantime, Phoenix Suns president and CEO Rick Welts revealed, in a New York Times article, that he is gay.

Welts said he came forward because he wants to help break down one of the last significant social barriers in sports.
