San Francisco passes cellphone radiation law

SAN FRANCISCO

Tuesday afternoon, the Board of Supervisors passed a law that requires cellphone makers to include fact sheets warning people about the amount of radiation each handset emits.

Supporters believe there's enough evidence of a link to brain damage, to make the warnings worth it.

CTIA (The Wireless Association) says scientific data does not justify this.

The industry released a statement saying quote, "this ordinance misleads consumers by creating a negative perception of a product that already complies with federal standards."
