Alameda County invests in healthy kids

ALAMEDA, Calif.

Wednesday morning, supervisor Wilma Chan presented a check for $100,000 from the county to the Alameda Boys and Girls Club.

The facility will use the money to operate a new gym and a new health clinic that will also provide free dental exams.

Besides giving kids a safe outlet to play and exercise, the Boys and Girls Club will also offer courses in nutrition and healthy life choices.
