A $5,000 reward is being offered to catch whoever shot several ducks in Santa Clara with blowgun darts.

At least four ducks have been found shot with blowgun darts on Granada Avenue. One of those ducks died and another was picked up by animal control last week.

Now the Monterey-based non-profit rescue group Wild Rescue is putting up the reward.

Blowgun ammunition is illegal in California. In addition, the person responsible could face federal charges since the crime involves wild birds protected under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act.
