Base-jumper get stuck in tree, calls 911

October 13, 2011 3:03:05 PM PDT
A base-jumper who took a late-night leap from California's tallest bridge, located in Placer County, had to be rescued after he got caught in a tree.

Crews used a helicopter to rescue the jumper; something they said was incredibly dangerous because of the wind created by the chopper's rotors.

The man hung from his snagged parachute for about an hour before calling 911 from his own cell phone. He wasn't hurt. Police arrested him and booked him into the county jail.
