Pleasanton school district to vote on drug dogs

January 24, 2012 12:00:00 AM PST
The Pleasanton school district will decide whether to bring in drug-sniffing dogs to begin patrolling the city's high school campuses.

The plan was proposed after a big spike in the number of on-campus drug cases. If approved, drug sniffing dogs would patrol the student and teacher parking lots as well as student lockers on a regular basis.

Critics say the proposal is a violation of privacy. The meeting begins at 7:00 tonight at the district offices on Bernal Avenue.
