Free Internet access coming to South Bay

SAN JOSE, Calif.

The city of San Jose is rolling out a new all-access Wi-Fi program throughout the downtown area this summer. Dozens of Wi-Fi devices will be installed on traffic lights, street poles and buildings to support tens of thousands of mobile device users.

City officials are hoping the free outdoor network will attract more young professionals and help bolster San Jose's title as the Capital of Silicon Valley.
