Man shot and killed in Fremont Thursday night

FREMONT, Calif.

Officers responded to 4273 Central Ave. at about 11 p.m. on a report of gunshots heard and found the victim, a Fremont resident, unconscious in the driveway with a gunshot wound to the head.

The man was transported to San Jose Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. His identity had not been released as of this morning.

No arrests have been made and no suspect information was immediately available in connection with the shooting.

Police closed Central Avenue between Dusterberry Way and Joseph Street to conduct the investigation, and Detective Bill Veteran said the closure will likely be in effect until noon.
