School in Fremont wins Dept. of Energy competition

The team from Hopkins Junior High School in Fremont won the final round this morning in the Department of Energy competition. The kids had to answer questions along the lines of – 'How many newtons does one kilogram of water weigh at the surface of the earth?'

San Jose's Harker School was also in the top eight. The winners get a $1,000 and a trip to Alaska to study marine and avian biology and geology.
