If you don't own a car but want to run some errands on the Peninsula, Redwood City has a new option for you.

The city is launching a pilot project, putting three Zipcars at the Caltrain Sequoia Train parking lot. Zipcar members can reserve one online, paying $8 an hour or $78 per day.

Redwood City hopes to reduce downtown traffic congestion and improve air quality. The project is being funded with a $1.5 million grant from the Metropolitan Transportation Commission.
