SF teachers push back against possible layoffs

SAN FRANCISCO

They want the board to use the district's $80 million in reserves to rescind the pink slips. The teachers will push the issue even further. They will take a strike vote this week.

"We're taking our first strike vote on Thursday. There's a second vote that has to happen before we go on strike. In the meantime, the union, we have expressed our willingness to continue negotiating in good faith with the school district," said Susan Solomon from the United Educators of San Francisco.
