Priest abuse victim trial on hold

Testimony is now on hold in the trial of a man charged with beating a priest he says molested him and his brother when they were children.

The judge sent the jury home for the day to discuss a pressing issue with attorneys. The defense wants to pursue perjury charges against the priest Father Jerry Linder.

Linder denied ever molesting the defendant William Lynch or his brother.

Prosecutors have not denied that the retired priest ever molested Lynch.

Lynch is accused of beating Linder at a retirement home for priests in 2010. If Linder is convicted he could face a maximum of four-years in prison.
