Man arrested after allegedly stabbing teen girl

PLEASANT HILL, Calif.

Around 9 a.m., staff at a local hospital reported that they were treating a teenage girl for stab wounds to her upper chest and hands, Pleasant Hill police Sgt. Tim Frank said.

Police determined that the suspect in the stabbing was 65-year-old Pleasant Hill resident Robert J. Fromm.

Officers went to Fromm's home in the 1900 block of Patricia Drive, where they found him suffering from multiple self-inflicted stab wounds.

Fromm was transported to a hospital and, once medically cleared, will be booked into county jail on suspicion of attempted murder, police said.
