Fans spending big bucks for World Series tickets, parking

Baseball fans driving to see the San Francisco Giants play the Detroit Tigers in the World Series at AT&T Park are finding that parking is very expensive. It costs $75 to park at a parking lot at 4th and Brannan, one block from AT&T Park.

Instead of paying the flat rate, fans can always do what officials are encouraging people to do -- take public transportation.

Still, the price of parking is nothing compared to what some people are paying for a chance to catch the hottest ticket in town. On Monday, the average price found online for tickets to see the San Francisco Giants play the Detroit Tigers was $700.

The seats behind home plate were going for $11,000.
