Teens arrested after giving parents drugged milkshake

ROCKLIN, Calif.

Police say the girls put prescription sleeping pills in the shakes so they could use the Internet late at night. After taking a drug test to confirm their suspicion, the parents brought their daughter to the police station.

"The story came out, the drug test, we asked the parents if there was any witnesses, and we asked them what happened, and from that we deduced what occurred and we arrested them both," said Rocklin Police Lt. Lon Milka.

The 15-year-old daughter and her 16-year-old friend were booked into juvenile hall on conspiracy charges of mixing pharmaceuticals with food.
