Fight over Pacifica golf course takes strange twist

SAN FRANCISCO

Last December a federal judge ruled against six environmental groups seeking to protect frogs and snakes at the Sharp Park Golf Course, which is owed by San Francisco.

But now, the environmental groups that lost the case have filed a request to have San Francisco pay over a million dollars in attorney's fees.

The judge ruled the lawsuit moot after the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service determined golf course maintenance would not harm the animals.
