1 dead, 1 hospitalized after shooting in Oakland

OAKLAND, Calif.

A man and woman were driving a mini-van when they were shot at 11:20 p.m. on the 4000 block of Darien Avenue. The man was pronounced dead at the scene and the woman was transported to the hospital in stable condition.

The mini-van crashed into a power pole causing a transformer to blow. Power was knocked to 687 PG&E customers, but now 20 customers are impacted. They won't have their power restored until three this afternoon.

Oakland police have not made any arrests and have not released any description of the suspect or suspects.
