Air Force mom back from Afghanistan surprises son

STANFORD, Calif.

Jackson Fyffe thought he was making the ceremonial first kick at Saturday night's San Jose Earthquakes game. Instead his mom, a lieutenant colonel in the Air Force, walked out and surprised him.

Celene Fyffe came home from Afghanistan where she was a director of psychological health. Officials at Travis Air Force Base, where Fyffe is based, came up with the idea.

Fyffe had not seen her son in six months.
