Crews responded around 5:50 a.m. to reports of a single-family house in the 400 block of B Street, fire Battalion Chief Merlin Turner said.
The nine adults and 6 children living in the home had all evacuated safely by the time crews arrived on the scene, Turner said.
The chief said one of the residents, a teenage girl, was taken to a hospital to be treated for breathing problems due to the fire.
Firefighters attacked the blaze, which burned throughout the house and into the home's attic space.
"The fire was very difficult to control, crews had a difficult time getting access to the fire in the attic," Turner said.
The blaze took about 45 minutes to get under control, he said.
The house was completely gutted by the fire and the American Red Cross was called to provide housing assistance for the family of 15 living there, according to the chief.
Turner said fire investigators are still looking into what caused the blaze, which caused an estimated $300,000 in damage.
